Tuesday's Coverage Wednesday's Paper!

Wednesday March 27th 2013

I covered The Price is Right in Kingston at the K-Rock Centre on Tuesday night. These were my best shots. One of my shots even made front page and there was another one on page two!

This was front page!

Laura Boudreau for the Whig-Standard - Mark Murphy was playing the Price is Right game Planko to try and win $500. He was unsuccessful but had fun doing it anyway. Host Todd Newton was cheering for the win, while the model waited patiently for the outcome.

This one was ran second page alone with the story:

And my Standalone weather feature made it in on page 6:

These two were just used for the gallery so I never wrote a caption for them but they are still nice shots.

I am shooting another hockey game tonight so lets see if I can outdo myself!

Also here is the link for the gallery http://www.thewhig.com/2013/03/25/colts-come-back-to-beat-fronts
However most of the photos are not mine but my mentor Ian MacAlpine. but they are all great shots!

First couple days at the Whig-Standard

A couple of the photos from the first couple of days at the Whig:

KINGSTON, Ont. (25/03/13) Candice Collver was walking her young French Bulldog Juno in downtown Kingston on the mild Monday afternoon. Collver was enjoying her day off work walking Juno. She likes being downtown when it is not too busy outside so that Juno does not get too distracted during their walk. Laura Boudreau for the Whig-Standard.

My Update

I have not posted in a while because I have been working on school stuff and working pretty much full time, here is what I have been doing:

(20/03/13) KINGSTON, Ont. The Honourable Peter Milliken is the longest serving Speaker of the House of Commons in Canadian History. Milliken served as Speaker representing the Liberal Party for ten years and went back to his original job as a lawyer. "Excitement in my life? I think being born is a rather important part!" Photographed by: Laura Boudreau.

(20/03/13) AMHERSTVIEW, Ont. Wednesday March 20th is the "International Day of Happiness." Jackie Murphy and her loving friend Peanut relax in their favorite spot in the house and watch their afternoon soap operas. "Happiness can be found where ever there is love for something, for me it's my family, and no family is complete without the dog!" Murphy laughed while getting kisses from one of her lovable pets. And here is a cute photo sequence:

BELLEVILLE, Ont. (12/03/13) In Global Pet Food, the three new kittens were playing with Madilynn Ryan. A 4-year-old girl who was waiting with her grandmother at the shop for her dad to come back with tea. Ryan's grandmother works at the shop which makes it a fun hangout for her grandaughter. Children are always free spirits which makes my word free more meaningful. By: Laura Boudreau

There's a taste of what I have done over the past little while. Also starting today March 25th 2013, I am doing my internship at the Kingston Whig Standard! Wish me luck!
